Our Story

Rooted in community, growing with purpose

Who We Are

Founded in Nakuru, Chamiet began with a simple belief: when communities work together, lasting change becomes possible. A small group of passionate local farmers and youth leaders came together after witnessing the daily struggles faced by smallholder families, unpredictable markets, limited agricultural knowledge, and climate-related challenges. Instead of waiting for outside solutions, they chose to build their own network of support rooted in trust, shared learning, and community empowerment. What started as informal meetings under trees and on local farms quickly grew into a movement driven by resilience and collaboration. Farmers shared techniques, encouraged one another, and created opportunities for collective growth. Today, Chamiet continues to grow as a community-based organization committed to improving livelihoods, promoting sustainable farming, and strengthening food security for families across the region while staying deeply connected to its grassroots beginnings.
